Victorian Doubles Championships

The Victorian Doubles championships were played on Oct 23rd at Weird Entertainers Petanque Club in Endeavour Hills in Melbourne. The winners of the Mens were Pierrot Lubin and Arnaud Uppiah. The womens Mary Deakin and Medgee Lebrasse. For full results see here.

First Boule thrown at Smythesdale

The newish Smythesdale PC launched its new home at the Woady Yaloak Recreation Reserve with a Tournament on Oct 15th where 20 teams from around Victoria competed. PFA Director of Sports Andre Deramond threw the first boule. The winners were Laurant Fossaert, Stephane Langois and Louis Fenollar from the St Kilda Club pictured below.

PST (Petanque Shooting Trainer)

One of our long time members Martial Leconte has engineered a machine to enable Petanque players to practice their shooting. The PST (Petanque Shooting Trainer) is going on a world tour. On his wonderful journey Martial built a prototype in his back yard here in Australia in 2007. Then with the help of another St Kilda member Daniel Hanebuth they decided to build another machine in Germany to be displayed in major pétanque events all over Europe. Just a few months ago the machine was displayed in France in Miliau, Puy en Velay, Perigueux and Ruoms. Many well-known pétanque champions and world champions practiced on Martial’s Machine.
